Ekamra Heritage Walk – The Living Temple City Destinations Covered: • Mukteswara Temple – the gem of Odishan architecture • Parsurameswara Temple – one of the earliest surviving temples (7th century) • Rajarani Temple – known for its intricate erotic and floral carvings • Ananta Vasudeva Temple – the only Vishnu temple in Ekamra Kshetra • Bindusagar Lake – the sacred water body connecting the temples Practical Details: Duration: 2.5–3 hours | Distance: approx. 2 km Requirements: Comfortable footwear, modest attire, headscarf for women, water bottle, camera About the Trail: The Ekamra Heritage Walk explores the sacred geography of Bhubaneswar, once known as Ekamra Kshetra. This immersive trail takes visitors through living temples and heritage corridors that have stood since the 7th century CE. Each temple narrates a story — from early Shaiva devotion to the zenith of Odishan architecture under the Somavamsis and Ganga rulers. Visitors encounter a living city where ancient rituals, architecture, and local life coexist in harmony. Itinerary: • 6:00 AM – Assemble at Ekamra Haat, registration and welcome briefing • 6:30 AM – Begin trail with Mukteswara and Parsurameswara Temples • 7:00 AM – Proceed to Rajarani Temple (guided storytelling session) • 7:45 AM – Visit Ananta Vasudeva Temple and Bindusagar Lake • 9:15 AM – Closing circle and refreshments at Ekamra Van
