Discover the Soul of Bhubaneswar

‘Ekamra Walks’ offers curated city trails, initiated by Bhubaneswar Development Authority. The idea of the Ekamra Walks is to brand Bhubaneswar as one of the most preferred Urban Tourism Destinations. The walk is a non-profit initiative by Bhubaneswar Development Authority.

Old Town Bhubaneswar, also known as Ekamra Kshetra is the center of Kalingan temple architecture. In 2014, Ekamra Kshetra earned a place in UNESCO’S tentative list of World Heritage sites. Ekamra Walks, hence borrows its name from “Ekamra Kshetra” and is a guided tour for people interested in the history and culture of the city home to temples as old as 6th century AD. With the temples as its identity, the city has a lot to offer such as varied cuisines, museums & natural resources. With an objective to explore the city from the lenses of heritage, science, history and food, the third edition of the Ekamra Walks shall offer a pleasant touring experience in the city in the coming days.

Swapnita

Hi myself Swapnita Swain and I took the Odisha on a plate Food trail conducted by Ekamra Walks. We started from Ekamra Haat and it was a surreal experience, first we went for a demonstration of a typical Odia dish called Chunchi patra pitha demonstrated by Prachi Ray. She was very welcoming and explained step by step about the recipe. After that we went to Kalabhoomi for a typical Odia lunch which consisted of Nali Usuna Bhata, Khata meetha kolatha Dali, Chingudi Sukhua Ghanta, Manja Bara and Pariba Batibasa. It was a soulful lunch and the way Debasis Sir explained about the lunch and some facts about typical Odia dishes was really insightful. I had a gala time with my fellow participants discussing and sharing some amazing facts about Odia culture, cuisine and traditions.

Looking forward to attend to many more walks to be conducted by Ekamra Walks.
